Boudhanath stands tall again
Boudhanath one of the the biggest Buddhist and holiest stupa in Nepal. Boudhanath is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. Due to its religion significance and its long history, Boudhanath attracts a lot of tourist and is a source of income for lot of people living around the region and for lot of businesses. The massive earthquake of 2015 was a sad time for everyone. The stupa was damaged badly and for a year the stupa had so signs of renovation and the government had taken little initiative to reconstruct any national heritage sites damaged by the earthquake. This caused the locals to be frustrated and decided that they will gather aid from the local community and businesses and buddhist group. With the collected fund they started rebuilding the stupa and eighteen months after the earthquake, Boudhanath became the first major historical site to be restored. Boudhanath now stands tall and looks beautiful and majestic. It became a hope that Nepal can rise from any devastation and stand strong.
