Langtang Valley Now Open for Trekking
The Langtang Valley of Nepal is open for trekking. The Langtang Valley region north of Kathmandu is one of the most spectacular trekking locations in Nepal. Its deep valley and high snow-capped Himalayan peaks exceeding 6,000m and 7,000m on either side make for gorgeous mountain vista scenery. The region was also the very first national park created in Nepal.
However the region was hit by the April 2015 earthquake that shook much of Nepal. But since then the industrious local people of this region have cleared and reconstructed trekking trails and repaired damaged accommodation.
The trekking trail now follows a slightly different route into the valley and some village stops have been adjusted to ensure trekking groups stay where the best facilities are now available. But the majesty of this trekking destination remains as it has been for countless years. Langtang Ri offers a 12 day itinerary that will take you right to the head of the valley at the Kyanjin Gompa monastery and even up to the stunning vantage point of Tsergo Ri at 5,150m or 19,600 feet altitude. Contact Langtang Ri today to book this fantastic short trek.
