It is also possible to turn the treks into overnight trips. Some popular treks around Kathmandu are Shivapure area, Godavari to Phulchowki, Kirtipur to Champadevi, Hadiban to Dakchhinkali, Dhulikhel to Namou Buddha, Nagarjun, Nagarkot to Changunarayan etc. Permit is only required for trekking around Shivapuri National Park. Transportation is easily available at the end and beginning of these treks. Private vehicles or taxis can also be hired. This short tour will take to the key cultural highlights of wonderful and exotic Nepal.
Langtang Ri Trekking & Expedition representative will greet you in an airport & from there it will take approximately 7 KM to reach in Hotel Here, you will be formally introduced to your Guide and the activities to be enjoyed over the next few days. We will also ask for your passport photographs and any other details required for your trek permits, at this stage.
After breakfast, start day hiking trip for 4 hours to Sanku & Bajrayogini. Sanku is a very old Newar city and lies 23 km from Kathmandu. It derives its name from Sankhapura, which means Conch City. It lies on the famous route to Tibet. The traders used this route from 7th to 9th centuries AD. This legendary city is worth a visit, because of its old houses, beautiful wood- carved temples and old stone water taps. The famous temple of Goddess Ugratara Bajrayogini is situated at a 45 minute walking distance from here. The Goddess Bajrayogini is the Hindu – Buddhist parallel manifestation of Goddess Kali. The temple complex is supposed to be as old as Changunarayan (467 AD). It is mentioned in Gopal Vamsabali, a research manuscript, which states Manadev, performed penance at this place. The present three- tier structure or the temple is the contribution of King Pratap Malla
After breakfast, start day hiking trip to Kapan monstarey which is an equally famous and beautiful Buddhist cloister housing up to 360 monks. Another nearby sister building, the Khachoe Gh akyil Ling Nunnery houses 380 nuns. The monks and the nuns come mainly from Nepal, Tibet and other Himalayan countries to receive good monastic education & continue to Phulahari Gumba known as Dhilung's paradise. Phulahari is set on a forested ridge above the valley, we can see the clear icon of Boudha stupa and the surrounding mountains dotted with gompas. The grounds are beautifully kept (no plastic!) with mature trees and shrubs. Marble and stone paths lead one to a fish pond, stupas and the temple which is covered in ornate frescos. Being therte one can feel blessed & back to Gokarna Forest Resort.
After breakfast, drive to Nagarkot. It is most popular hill station very close on the eastern side of Kathmandu. It is just 32 km from Kathmandu, at an altitude of 2170m and can be reached by driving of 1 and half hour. Evening one can have decent walk near lodges .
After breakfast , you can start day hike to View tower. From view tower you can see the major Himalayan peaks as Ganesh Himal (7405m), Shisha Pangma (8013m), Gang Chenpo (6397m), Dome Blanc (6830m), Dorje Lakpa (6990m), Lonpo Gang (7083m) and Purbi Chyachu (6658m), Langtang, Gauri Shankar an d Mt. Everest in a far distance. The view of Sunrise over the Himalayas from Nagarkot is simply Magnificient in a clear day & excursion around local forest & back to Hotel
The hike from Nagarkot to Bhaktapur Via Changu Narayan lasts for approximately 4 to 5 hrs depending on one’s pace and covers a distance of about 11 - 14 km .Changunarayan is the oldest Temple of Kathmandu valley dated back to 7th century and listed in the UNESCO world Heritage sites. You will see Vaikuntha Vishnu's Statue in Changu Narayan. The temple is famous for its architecture, is richly decorated with sculptures and carvings. The walk is mostly downhill and offers grand views of the mountains, hills, villages, temples and Kathmandu valley. The trail is wide and easy to walk from Nagrkot to Changunarayan continue toward Bhaktapur
After breakfast, excursion around Bhaktapur as it is the finest durbar square of the valley where one can visit golden gate, Palace of 55 windows, Nyatapole temple, Dattatrya Square etc & rest in Bhaktapur .
Drive back to Kathmandu via Sightseeing in Pashupati (Hindu pilgrimage Temple), Baudhanath( Biggest Stupa in South Asia ) and Swaymbhunath( Monkey Temple) .
