Moderate trekking involves 5 – 6 hours a day walking at a steady pace below 4000 meters for around 10 days trekking trip.
A visit to the Langtang Tamang Heritage Trail takes you to some of the most superb trekking in Nepal. Lying just north of the Kathmandu Valley, the Tamang Heritage Trail is perhaps the most accessible trekking region in Nepal, where you can experience some of the most beautiful scenery in the country and trek through unspoiled Tamang villages while providing a sustainable economic benefit to the community.
The history of the Tamang Heritage Trail takes you a several hundred years back when the trail was used as a trading route that connected Tibet and Nepal. Commodities like salt, meat, livestocks and crops were brought through the border and traded in these regions. Eventually those tibetian traders started to settle down here, changing their ethnicity to Tamang. Thus the name "The Langtang Tamang Heritage Trials.". But, their culture and tradition as a Tibetian were intact. Which is what you will get to see in this amazing route. You will be stunned to see that how well these people have preserved their ancient culture and traditions.
The Langtang tamang Heritage trail will reward you with Traditional Tamang villages and Culture, life, artifacts, relics, nature Unspoiled and Untouched by Mainstream development. You will feel the love and excitement of villagers as you enter the village where people in colourful traditional costumes welcome you with a huge smile.
During Spring (March - May) the nature lovers will feel heaven here. The Rhododendron forests are in full bloom and the diverse ecology bursts with beauty. Animals like leopard, Red Pandas, Bears and Musk deers roam around in this season.

Langtang Ri Trekking & Expedition representative will greet you in an airport & transfer you to your Hotel, after refreshment you will be picked from hotel lobby to office where you will be formally introduced to your Guide and the activities to be enjoyed over the next few days. We will also ask for your passport photographs and any other details required for your trek permits, at this stage.
Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi to Ghatlang which takes about eight hours. You head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabru Besi passing through Dhunche. While passing along the road at the bank of Trishuli river you catch a glimpse of Ganesh Himal, terraces and green hills. As you pass through Dhunche you feel as if you are heading towards deep land. At the same time, you notice that the road is still under construction. You can see scenery from view point. The cultural show at Goljung and Gatlang makes your trekking a memorable one. Gatlang set high on a hillside among terraced fields is a Tamang settlement. One can visit a Tamang monastery and beautiful Parvatikunda Lake at Gatlang.
Trek to Ghatlang to tatopani which is 6 hours of trek. Our walk begins by descending to Thangbuchet (near Chilime village) by the Bhotekoshi River. Chilime Hydropower dam is situated here. After Chilime, we start to ascend first by crossing a small hanging bridge and continue until we reach our campsite. In route, we have excellent views of the Langtang Range and Ganesh Himal. Tatopani also renown as place of natural hot water dam, where one can cleanse in the natural hot springs. Locals believe that the waters have a healing quality that eases away your aches and pains.
This morning we ascend to Nagthali, which was once used as a popular meditation center for the local monks and priests. Nagthali Danda (3300m), the highest pass of the area, lies in a high open grassland and offers panoramic views of snow covered Langtang Lirung, Kerung, Ganesh Himal and Sanjen Ranges. We descend down to Thuman, a heavily Tibetan influenced Tamang village. If we are lucky, we might come across large troops of Nepal Gray Langur Monkeys. The ancient monasteries and houses adorned with rich wood engravings here are an unforgettable experience. This trek will take 5 hours.
We begin with an easy flat trails which descends to Timure en route to the old trade route to Tibet. After lunch and making camp at Timure we head towards Rasuwa Gadhi, an historical reminder of the Nepal-Tibet relations that has existed for many centuries. A suspension bridge here links Nepal and Tibet. We are not permitted to camp at Rasuwa Gadhi, as it lies on the border and security is extremely tight.
Passing through rhododendron forests and meadows we head towards Briddim, another Tibetan influenced Tamang village located in the bosom of the Langtang Himal. Around 43 houses are spread in Z shape. Most of the houses are made up of stone and have roofs of split shake. Here we may meet other trekkers on the Langtang trail.
After the sunshine we are heading to our next destination called Thulo Syabru. Thulo Syabru from east is a small valley, it is a steep climb through forests of oak, fir, and rhododendron to the top of a ridge.
After some hour walk we reach to Sing Gompa which is a small village famous for Yak Cheese. We can get cheese factory over here as well Buddhist monastery. Crossing the Sing Gompa we reach to our another destination after walk for 5 long hour crossing villages and pasturelands called Cholangpati.
Observe the early morning sunrise view. We can see Langtang Lirung and Langtang on the south side from Cholang Pati we also can see the superb view of Ganesh Himal Ranges. After morning breakfast trek start to Gosainkunda which face the Lauribina at first. In Lauribina we can find some hotels/restaurants for tea break. The trail is still steep up until Gosainkund pass, then starts flat. After three hours of trek we reach to Gosainkund. When we cross the Gosanikund pass the first lake named Saraswoti Kund, second is Parvati Kund, third is Bhairab Kund and fourth is Gosain Kund, which is bigger than others. After then we back to Sing Gompa.
With the beautiful view of mountains and with greenery we back to Dhunche from Singompa. It is a pleasant drive back to Kathmandu with splendid views of hills, mountains, terraces and villages. You drive along the unpaved road till Betrawati and you begin to follow narrow well paved road.
Afternoon is the free day and you can use it for your shopping. All too soon it’s time to bid Nepal farewell and one realizes that we can never be intimate, only acquainted with this amazing adventure Himalaya.

Footwear : Well broken-in walking shoes - these must be suitable for snow, thick socks, light socks, camp shoes.Clothing : Down or fiber filled waterproof jacket and trousers, sweater or fleece jacket, underwear, warm and cotton trousers or jeans, shirts and T-shirts, shorts, long underwear, wool hat, sun hat, gloves, bathing suit, track suit.
Other equipment: Sleeping bag (5 seasons), lock, day pack, water bottle, sun cream, sunglasses, flashlight with spare bulbs and batteries, lip salve, gaiters.
Other items: Insect repellent, toilet articles, diary, toilet roll, laundry soap, wet ones, pocket knife, towel, sewing kit, plasters, binoculars, camera, film, cards and personal medical kit.
