Moderate trekking involves 5 – 6 hours a day walking at a steady pace below 4000 meters for around 10 days trekking trip.
Gosainkund Lake perched on the high hills on the lap of the mountains along with a string of other glaciated lakes is famed trekking destination that can be easily accessed from the Kathmandu on few hours’ drives and few days trek through the narrow alleys, amid verdant lands and tiny and culturally vibrant villages. As the lake is encircled by the spectacular towering peaks so the breathtaking glimpses of the grandeur peaks along with the sparkling reflections of the snow-fed mountains on the shimmering bluish water of the lake spellbind making feel like being on the slice of the natural heaven. Lake is believed to be created by Lord Shiva by piercing the trident to quench the thirst of the burning throat.
Apart from the mesmerizing vision of the lake Gosainkund trek offers the chance for the cultural immersion as the trail runs amidst the Tamang villages so indulge in the adorned culture, religion, festival mingling with friendly Tamang local people. And also witness the red panda and encounter diverse bird species during the trek as trek pass through lush Langtang National Park.
After breakfast drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal for 1 hour then start the trek from Sundarijal to reach Chisopani for overnight stay. During the trek we reach the maximum height of 2600 meters which is Borlang Bhanjyang and descend from Borlang Bhanjyang to reach Chisopani located at the elevation of 2200 meters from sea level. We will pass through Tamang village enjoying the glimpses of Jugal Himal, Langtang range, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu range.
After breakfast, continue the trek on the descending trail passing through Tamang village, lush forests to reach Kutumsang. And we gain a height of 200 meters to reach Kutumsang for the overnight stay. During the trek enjoy the amazing vision of Jugal, Langtang range, Rolwaling range.
Most of the trek will be on the gradual uphill trail that gains a height of almost 1250 meters. After the breakfast we pass through rhododendron, pine, oak forest and also enter the lush Langtang National park relishing on the eye-catching vision of Jugal, Rolwaling range on 5 hours trek from Kutumsang to Tharepati; nestled on the altitude of 3690 meters.
After breakfast, the trek from Tharepati on the undulating trail that runs through pine and juniper forests to reach Phedi for the overnight stay. We will gain a height of 100 meters to reach Phedi taking almost 4-5 hours on the trek. And Phedi is located at the height of 3730 meters from the sea level.
Today we will cross the highest pass of the trek Lauribina la nestled on the height of 4610 meters. The trek continues on the gradually ascending trail taking almost 4- hours. And we will enjoy the amazing view of Ganesh, Manaslu range, Annapurna range from the top of the Lauribina la during the trek to Gosainkund; nestled at the height of 4380 from sea level. We will gain approximately height of 900 meters to immerse on the shimmering beauty of the glaciated Bluish Lake Gosainkund.
After breakfast, we will descend 1000 meters following the downhill trail that crosses the pine forest to reach Sing Gompa located at the elevation of 3130 meters, for overnight stay. During the 5 hours journey, we will enjoy the captivating glimpses of the Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Manaslu, Annapurna range as well the peaks from Tibet and we will also explore monastery for insights on Tibetan Buddhism as well as visit Yak cheese factory.
After breakfast, we will descend 1200 meters on the downhill trail that runs through Langtang National park to reach Dhunche taking almost 5 hours and after returning Dhunche we will engage in a school project for half-day and overnight stay at teahouse. Dhunche is located at a height of 3330 meters from sea level.
We will take the private vehicle for the return drive to Kathmandu.
