    Moderate trekking involves 5 – 6 hours a day walking at a steady pace below 4000 meters for around 10 days trekking trip.

Annapurna birding trek revolves on the periphery of the Annapurna conservation area that covers 7629 square kilometers area nestling on the lap of the eight-thousanders Mt. Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. As Annapurna conservation area is a haven for the 1,226 species of flowering plants, 105 mammals, 518 birds, 40 reptiles, and 23 amphibians so Annapurna birding trek is the best bucket list destination for the photographers, birdwatchers where birdwatchers’ rewarded with moments to witness diverse bird species including protected birds Impeyan Pheasant, Crimson Horned Pheasant, Cheer Pheasant along encountering several wild animals including Red Panda, Musk Deer, Snow Leopard, Lynx, Leopard Cat, Great Tibetan Brown Bear, Himalayan Brown Bear, Gray Wolf along with experience of different vegetation as the region extends from the subtropical lowlands and lush temperate rhododendron forest in the south to dry alpine forest in the north.

Brief itinerary

  • Day 01
    Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m). Overnight at the hotel.
  • Day 02
    Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (about 6 to 8 hours by road) (960m).
  • Day 03
    Drive to Kande and trek to Thulo Kharka aka Australian Camp (2100 m). Overnight at the tent.
  • Day 04
    Australian Camp- Landruk Phedi (1900 m), 5-6 hours. Overnight at the tent.
  • Day 05
    Landruk Phedi- Bhaisi Kharka (2523m), 5-6 hours. Overnight at the tent.
  • Day 06
    Bhaisi Kharka- Deurali (3200m), 4-5 hours. Overnight at the tent.
  • Day 07
    Deurali- Banthanti (3180 m), 2 hours. Overnight at the tent.
  • Day 08
    Banthanti- Birethanti (2300 m) trek then drive to Pokhara, 4hours trek 1 ½ hour’s drive. Overnight at the hotel.
  • Day 09
    Pokhara to Kathmandu (1300 m). Overnight at the hotel.

    Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m). Overnight at the hotel.

    Welcome to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The Langtang Ri Trekking & Expedition representative will greet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After your refreshment, you will be picked up from your hotel and will be formally introduced to your trekking guide. We will go through all your trek itinerary and arrangements with you to ensure every detail is in place. We will also ask to bring your passport, extra passport photographs, and a copy of your travel insurance.

  • Day 02
    Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (about 6 to 8 hours by road) (960m).

    After breakfast, we start our journey setting out for Pokhara; a natural paradise blessed with nature’s treasure and gateway for famous trekking destinations and lies 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu. We drive for six hours’ to reach Pokhara and during the journey enjoy the breathtaking vision of the terraced rice field, an amazing landscape, and serene Trisuli and Marsyandi River. Overnight at the Pokara.

  • Day 03
    Drive to Kande and trek to Thulo Kharka aka Australian Camp (2100 m). Overnight at the tent.

    After breakfast, drive to Kande passing Sarangkot taking almost 1 ½ half hours then start birding trek from Kande through beautiful forests to reach Thulo Kharka aka Australian camp. During the 2 hours trek, you can see migratory raptures, especially during the autumn and winter season. Overnight at the Australian camp.

  • Day 04
    Australian Camp- Landruk Phedi (1900 m), 5-6 hours. Overnight at the tent.

    We continue the trek on the trail via rhododendron forests; a sanctuary of the different bird species including raptures. During the trek we pass through farmlands, tiny but beautiful villages Tolkha and Landruk and rewarded with the fabulous vision of the Annapurna range, to reach for the camping overnight.

  • Day 05
    Landruk Phedi- Bhaisi Kharka (2523m), 5-6 hours. Overnight at the tent.

    After breakfast, trek on the gradual uphill path crossing the Modi river till we reach Ghandruk village; famous for the spectacular vision of the Himalayan peaks from a closer distance then continue the ascending trek to reach Bhaisi Kharka for the overnight at camp. During the 5-6 hours trek, we can Thrush birds along with other species of birds and encountering several animals gaining an altitude of 600 meters. Overnight at the Bhaisi Kharka.

  • Day 06
    Bhaisi Kharka- Deurali (3200m), 4-5 hours. Overnight at the tent.

    After breakfast, trek through the forest and down to the creek and along the creek before making a climb. During the gradual uphill trek, via forest explore birds such as Thrushes, Bullfinch, Yuhina, etc. with wildlife such as Himalayan Grey Langur and Muntjac, etc. Overnight at the Deurali.

  • Day 07
    Deurali- Banthanti (3180 m), 2 hours. Overnight at the tent.

    We continue our birding trek to Banthanti from Deurali where en-route enjoy captivating glimpses of the Annapurna range on the left side and the green hills on the right side.  Overnight at the Banthanti.

  • Day 08
    Banthanti- Birethanti (2300 m) trek then drive to Pokhara, 4hours trek 1 ½ hour’s drive. Overnight at the hotel.

    We trek from Banthanti to Birethanti from where we will catch a private vehicle for the return drive to Pokhara. Overnight at the Kathmandu.

  • Day 09
    Pokhara to Kathmandu (1300 m). Overnight at the hotel.

    We will drive to Kathmandu from Pokhara taking almost 6-7 hours. Overnight at the Kathmandu.

  • Day 10
    Departure

    We will drive you to the airport for the departure according to your scheduled flight.
