    Welcome to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The Langtang Ri Trekking & Expedition representative will greet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After your refreshment you will be picked up from your hotel lobby and driven to our Thamel office where you will be formally introduced to your trekking guide. We will go through all your trek itinerary and arrangements with you to insurer every detail is in place. We will also ask to bring your passport, extra passport photographs and a copy of your travel insurance so that we can organize permits required for your tour.

    JUN 05 KATHMANDU – sightseeing (PASUPATHI NATH, BODHI NAUTH, KALI TEMPLE) overnight in Gokrna forest resort

    After breakfast, we start an interesting tour around Kathmandu. Escorting by an English speaking guide (can be provide any language speaking guide on request) the tour will give you a taste of our vivid Nepali culture and history. In our sightseeing tour we go to Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath and kali Temple.

    Bouddhanath: Bouddhanath is a Buddhist religious complex with a history dating back over 500 years. Located on the eastern edge of Kathmandu it is now a site of great pilgrimage for Buddhist followers who circle its massive stupa, spin its many prayer wheels and visit its beautiful monastery. The main feature of Boudhanath is its huge hemispherical white stupa with central golden tower and the all-seeing eyes of the Buddha. Visitors should circle the stupa in a clockwise direction and spin prayer wheels for good fortune and a good life. Visitors may also enjoy visiting the thangka painting school within the complex to see highly skilled artists at work on religious mandala paintings.

    Pashupatinath: This Hindu Temple is a very large complex and focal point for the Hindu religion in Nepal. This old and very revered complex of buildings and shrines is dedicated to the Lord Shiva, one of the main deities of Hinduism. While Lord Shiva has multiple forms he is often seen as the destroyer. This has great significance for the Pashupatinath temple as it is the site of many Hindi ritual cremations each day. Pashupatinath is considered by Hindus to be an auspicious site for passing from one stage of life to the next through the purifying and destroying flames of cremation. However, on a happier note, visitors may also get to see the temple in a buoyant festival mode with one of the many Hindu festivals celebrated here through the year.

  • Day 4
    JUN 07 KATHMANDU – LHASA(3658m) Flight and drive from GONGGAR AIR PORT to LHASA overnight 3 star hotel

    You will transfer to Kathmandu International Airport to board flight to Lhasa. Upon arrival in in  Lhasa will be greeted by your Tibetan guide and escorted to hotel. Rest of the day you will have a good rest to acclimatize the high altitude. The altitude in Lhasa is about 3,650m above sea level. Take time out to relax and acclimate to the high altitude after arrival at your hotel. Have a good rest tonight, and get ready for tomorrow's journey.

    JUN 08 LHASA (3658m)sightseeing Potala place and Jokhang temple and Barkor market overnight same hotel

    Today you will visit the famous Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Market

    Potala Palace: Which is known as the cardinal landmark of Tibet and the residence of the Dalai Lama lineages, Stands 13 stories high and owes over 1,000 rooms, 10,000 shrines and 200,000 statues, the Potala Palace formed a small world in it. 

    Jokhang Temple: Listed on UNESCO's World Heritage list in 2000 as part of the Potala Palace,Jokhang Temple is the ultimate pilgrimage destination for Tibetan Pilgrims. The temple is a four-storey timber complex with a golden top, with the combination of  Tang Dynasty, Tibetan and Nepal architectural styles. Every day, pilgrims come from every corner of Tibet worship here, make it a perfect site for photograpers.

    Barkhor Street: As the oldest street in Lhasa, Barkhor Street is considered as the center of the old city, and a perfect place to lear Tibetan culture, economy, religion, and arts. The street is full of handicarfts, such as ornaments, knives, tangka,  religious musical instruments, gold and silver ware, masks and a lot more. If you intend to buy some souvenirs for friends or famiy, Barkhor Street will be an ideal place.

     

  • Day 6
    JUN 09 LHASA - SIGATSE via Yamdrok lake and Gyangtse (3,840 m) overnight 3 star hotel

    Morning start drive to Shigatse. Upon arrival in Shigatse check in hotel. Shigatse is second biggest city of Tibet. Walk around the city by walking.This morning you will be drive to Gyangtse and finally reach Shigatse for hotel check-in. After passing the Kamba-La Pass (4794m), you’ll get to the beautiful Yamdrok Lake for great highland lake view and the distant view of Mt. Nojin Kangtsang(7191m). Continued is a 1.5 hour’s drive to visit the Karo-la Glacier (5050m). Then you will get to Gyangtze and visit the famous Palkor Monastery. Finally in the later afternoon you will reach Tibet’s 2nd largest city---Shigatse.

    Yamdrok Lake is one of the 3 most sacred lakes in Tibet. It is a lake of 72km long, fed by numerous small streams and sourrounded by snow covered mountains. The two long arms of water, makeing it look like a scorpion from the sky. According to legend, Yamdok Lake is the transformation of a goddess.

    Gyangtse is historically considered the third largest and most prominent town in the Tibet region (after Lhasa, and Shigatse).

    The town is strategically located in the Nyang Chu valley on the ancient trade routes from the Chumbi Valley, Yatung and Sikkim, which met here. From Gyantse, routes led to Shigatse downstream and also over the Karo La (Pass) to Central Tibet.The fortress (constructed in 1390)[3]guarded the southern approaches to the Yarlung Tsangpo Valley and Lhasa. The town was surrounded by a wall 3 km long.

    JUN 10 SIGATSE – SAGA(4640m) via Lhatse overnight Saga Hotel

    In the morning, drive from Shigatse to Saga via Lhatse . Saga ("happy land") is an army town with a Chinese garrison which patrols the whole length of the Tibetan-Nepalese border.Saga straddles the Dargye Tsangpo river above its junction with the Brahmaputra River. It is strategically located at the junction of three roads - the Lhartse road coming from the east, the Dzongka road from the south and the Purang and Drongpa roads from the west. Saga is also an important stop-off point for pilgrims and tourists on the way to visiting Mount Kailash being the last town on the southern route with supplies for travellers, having both a store and a restaurant and several guest houses and hotels.

    JUN 11 SAGA-MANASAROVAR(4750m) overnight best guest house in Manasarovar with dome room

    Drive from Saga to Manasarover. The longest driving day starts with full of excitement, Jeeps and trucks roll on the wide valley following rivers and grazing land of yaks and sheep. Far south you can see snow covered peaks near by you, lots of rocky peaks and sand duns give you an ideal world. Depends on season, nomads and other mobile shopkeepers are attired by beautiful traditional costume, waiting your arrival with hot tea and other supplies along with big smile. by the late afternoon you can have the first sight of Holy Kailash Parbat and Manasarovara. Hore, a small village near by Lake Manasarover, we will spend a night there.

  • Day 9
    JUN 12 MANASAROVAR – DARCHEN(4560m)Overnight medium Hotel

    In the morning do Pooja and take holy bath at Mansarovar. After lunch, drive to Darchen, the base camp of Mt. Kailash. The drive takes about 1 & half hours.

    At Darchen yatris who wants Mt. Kailash Parikarma with horses and porters will have to confirm our guide so that he can arrange all before starting the parikarma.

  • Day 10
    JUN 13 DARCHEN – DIRAPUK(4860m) overnight best guest house with dome room

    Today we will trek from Darchen to Dirapuk. This Kailash circuit covers 53km and can be done in 3 days, this is the first day trek. We head west in clockwise direction and after a few kilometers the trail climbs up to a cairn at 4730 m from where the southern face of Mt. Kailash comes to view. En route we will visit Tarboche where annual flagpole raising ceremony takes place during Saga Dawa.Mount Kailash is a sacred mountain by four religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism and Bon. Pilgrims believe that circumambulating Mt. Kailash on foot is a holy ritual that will bring good fortune. and wash away their sin.  The path around Mount Kailash is 52km long, Hindus and Buddhists walk clockwisely around the Mt.Kalaish, while followers of Jain and Bonpo religions walk counter-clockwisely.

    JUN 14 DIRAPUK-DOM LA PAS-ZUTULPUK (5630m)overnight best guest house with dome room

    Today we will cross Drolma la pass (5630m) and Gauri Kund Lake (5608m) where Hindus worship and immerse themselves in the icy waters of the lake. On the way you can have a rest in a teahouse. All the way, you can see locals Tibetans prostrating in the Kora path and beautiful Kadoe Lake when walk downhill. We may also visit Zutulpuk Monastery

  • Day 12
    JUN 15 ZUTULPUK-DARCHEN-SAGA(4650m) overnight Saga Hotel

    On the day three of the kora. you will trek 7km to Zongto where you can take bus to Darchen. Along the Kora, you can see piles of Mani Stones. We will end the Trek around noon, rest in the lodging place.

  • Day 13
    JUN 16 SAGA – SIGATSE overnight 4 star hotel

    Today we will drive from Saga to Shigatse and stay overnight in Shigatse.

  • Day 14
    JUN 17 SIGATSE – LHASA (3658m)overnight 3 star hotel

    This morning you will visit Tashilumpo Monastery and then drive back to Lhasa.On the way, you can stand on the viewing platform to view the vast Yalong River bed and visit Water Mill making Tibetan Incense material

  • Day 15
    JUN 18 LHASA Drive to GONGGAR AIR PORT and flight to KATHMANDU(1300m)overnight in Gokrna forest resort

    Today our guide will drop you to Gonggar airport  and you eill fly to Kathmandu. Your lifetime Tibet tour is completed now. 

  • Day 16
    JUN 19 KATHMANDU Free day overnight in Gokrna forest resort

    This is the free day to explore a little more of Kathmandu and complete your gift shopping. In the evening you will be collected from your hotel for a fun farewell dinner and Nepali cultural dance .

    JUN 19 Transfer to Airport for International Departure

    We will meet you at your hotel and take you to the airport in plenty of time to meet your flight home.
